CourseClarity privacy notice

CourseClarity collects only the information needed to check a course, produce a private report and operate the service.

Information we process

We store the course URL you submit, optional price and purchase context, captured public pages, extracted claims, validation results and an unguessable report link. If you provide them, we also store your email address and uploaded course documents.

Accounts and guest reports

If you sign in, CourseClarity receives the account identifier and email address needed to create your report library, credit balance and purchase history. You can use Google, a one-time code sent to your email address, or your existing ChatGPT sign-in. CourseClarity does not receive your Google or ChatGPT password. We store account identifiers, verification records and secure sessions to manage sign-in, and use our email delivery provider to send requested codes. If you buy as a guest, we use the email address supplied at checkout to deliver the private report link and retain a delivery record.

Course-ready notifications

If you request an email when your check is ready, we store the address with that check and a delivery record. Our email provider, Resend, processes the address and a private overview link to send this one-off notification. We do not add you to a marketing list. The email does not unlock paid content or use report credits. Keep your private link safe and enter only your own email address.

Why we process it

We use the information to perform your requested course check, preserve the evidence available at the time, prevent abuse, review potentially material findings and support payment for a detailed report.

Payments and service providers

Stripe processes checkout and sends CourseClarity a payment status and transaction reference; CourseClarity does not receive full card details. A transactional email provider may process a guest email address and the minimum report details needed for delivery. Hosting, database and file storage are provided through OpenAI Sites and its infrastructure. The retrieval worker may be hosted separately for the private beta. When a supplier check is enabled, a company number or legal company name found in the captured course evidence may be sent to the official Companies House API. A bounded selection of course evidence excerpts and the draft report may also be sent to the OpenAI API for a final consistency review. That review is limited to identifying unsupported, contradictory or apparently omitted points; it is not used to invent new verified facts.

Retention and your choices

Private-beta records are retained while the service is evaluated and for as long as reasonably needed to handle disputes, security and legal obligations. To ask about your information, request correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern, email hello@courseclarity.co.uk. Do not upload identity documents, health information or unrelated personal data.

Public evidence

Captured course pages are used only as evidence for the private report and internal quality review. They are not republished as public SEO pages.
