What does the course actually award?
A regulated qualification, a provider certificate or preparation for a separate exam? We check the claimed recognition and flag provider-approval gaps. Training for an award is not the same as getting it.
Independent UK course checks
CourseClarity checks course claims against independent sources and compares the advertised price with the T&Cs — so you can see what’s included, what costs extra and what needs a closer look.
What CourseClarity shows
You are investing more than the course fee. Your time and next career step matter too. These are the details worth checking before you make that commitment.
A regulated qualification, a provider certificate or preparation for a separate exam? We check the claimed recognition and flag provider-approval gaps. Training for an award is not the same as getting it.
The advertised price may be only part of the bill. We look for compulsory extras such as exam and kit fees, and separate them from conditional costs such as resits. Any funding conditions stay visible.
Entry requirements, workplace assessments and study deadlines can change your plans. So can a refund promise with restrictions. We highlight the conditions we find and the questions worth asking before you commit.
It can mean very different things. We distinguish regulated qualifications from professional recognition and CPD, check relevant official evidence, and flag provider-approval gaps rather than treating a logo as proof.
See the difference
A course page can look reassuring while the important conditions sit somewhere else. Your report brings the accessible evidence together, flags differences that could affect your decision and gives you specific questions to put to the provider.
No scare tactics
We will not invent a problem to make a report sound useful. If sources disagree, we show you where. If something is simply unconfirmed, we call it an open question. A clean check is not a guarantee, and a missing source is not proof of wrongdoing.
Read our evidence standardTwo sources directly disagree on something that could affect the purchase.
The evidence does not answer a cost, credential or terms question.
The checked claims align, with any remaining limitations clearly stated.
We explain what blocked the check and ask for a document or another URL.
How it works
Paste the course link. Add a brochure if you have one, and tell us what you want the course to help you do.
We read accessible course information and terms, then look for relevant official and independent evidence. The checks depend on the type of course.
Get a preview of the findings. Where there is enough useful evidence, you can choose to unlock the full report and its supporting sources.
Use the ready-to-edit email to ask the provider about any gaps. Get the important answers in writing before you commit.
Before you scan
An exam fee you had not budgeted for. A qualification sold separately from the lessons. A workplace assessment you cannot complete from home. Or a refund with conditions you need to know about. We flag these when the evidence supports them and link to the source. An unanswered question is not proof that the provider has done anything wrong.
You could read all those pages yourself. CourseClarity brings the offer, accessible brochures, linked PDFs and terms together, then looks for relevant official and independent evidence. The useful part is the comparison: what is included, what costs extra, what disagrees and what you still need to ask. If a check cannot be completed, we say so.
Yes. Add a PDF brochure alongside the course URL. Where its text can be extracted, we analyse its qualification, price, fees, entry requirements and terms alongside the website. Images and scanned PDFs can be attached, but are not yet automatically read by OCR; they may not provide usable text for the check.
Yes, where relevant and available. A regulated-qualification claim can be checked against the official register for its exact title, awarding organisation and status. Government learning-outcome data can add context where a relevant match exists. Ofqual is not the regulator for every UK course, so the course type and location matter. CourseClarity is independent and is not part of, or endorsed by, Ofqual or the government.
No. A matching qualification record does not by itself establish the provider’s approval to deliver that award. Where a legal supplier can be identified and the integration is available, Companies House records add company context—not proof of course quality, solvency or accreditation. Any gap in provider-approval evidence remains an open question.
Where reliable, relevant sources are available, reports can include independent provider reviews, comparable alternatives, professional recognition and occupational-outcome context. Provider-wide reviews are not treated as results for the exact course. We do not guarantee a job, salary uplift or personal return on investment; weak evidence is labelled insufficient.
No. We distinguish supported conflicts, important unanswered questions, no material issue found and insufficient evidence. A missing source does not make a course bad, and a clean check is not a guarantee. CPD or an unregulated skills course is not a problem in itself: what matters is whether the offer matches the claims and your needs.
Yes. Start without an account or card. Your free preview shows the types of findings and whether we have enough useful evidence to offer a full report. If you want the details, a single report costs £4.99 when offered. We do not sell an inconclusive check as a complete assessment.
